Starting March 8, 2023 Clearinghouse will be notifying employers via email regarding any changes on a driver’s record up to 12 months. The employer must then conduct a full follow-on query. Employer requires to receive consent from the driver to be able to run the query. The follow-up query is required within 24 hours after receiving the Clearinghouse notification to find out whether the additional information results in the driver having a “Prohibited” Clearinghouse status.
Note: Previously, employers received email notices concerning updated driver information only after 30 days of performing a pre-employment inquiry. This has been extended as mentioned above.
